The DoSeum: Math, Science Skills Are Key at Master Spy Symposium

The Spy Academy exhibit is part of The DoSeum’s continued efforts to make learning math and science fun. The children, between ages seven to 11, were invited to meet with Rep. Hurd and work to create new clues for the exhibit. The children in attendance were selected because they solved every problem in last year’s Spy Academy exhibit.

A focus group comprised of children, ages 6 to 13, prototyped and tested exhibit components for the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center during a workshop at the Children’s Museum of Houston in November 2015.


Our Latest: Interactive, child-friendly city planned for Clay Center, West Virginia

Argyle Design, of Brooklyn, New York, has developed an exhibit for the Clay Center with the working title “Kid City.” The exhibit will feature an interactive, child-sized city, with bridges, banks, firetrucks, a capitol building and doctors’ offices.


Children’s Discovery Museum to celebrate groundbreaking

The Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent will have a celebratory groundbreaking at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The event will be at its new facility at 1205 Sam Houston Drive, the former Playhouse Theatre.

The museum will open in two phases, with the first phase anticipated to be completed by Sept. 24.

As the name suggests, kids are are encouraged to do things with their hands at the DoSeum, in six big exhibition areas and fun play spaces outside. While museum visitors are having fun, they also will be learning about math, light and sound, engineering, storytelling and other classroom subjects.

Hands-on and high-tech, San Antonio’s new children’s museum — the $47-million DoSeum — opened to the public Saturday morning.


Concepts Unveiled For Saskatoon Children’s Museum

Tuesday marked the first of two open houses on the lower level of the Mendel. The museum and Argyle Design invited the public to come and look at conceptual designs and offer feedback on what they liked and didn’t like.
